Spring/Summer 2023 Digital Twin/Game Development Intern

ABOUT US

US Ignite (www.us-Ignite.org) is accelerating the smart city movement – and creating value for an entire ecosystem – by guiding communities into the connected future, creating a path for private sector growth, and advancing technology research that’s at the heart of smart city development.

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY

For your internship, you’ll be aligned with the Smart Bases and Installations program. The US Ignite Smart Bases and Installations program hosts a portfolio of smart base programs that help military installations implement technology projects in key operational areas including advanced broadband and IoT networks, energy resiliency, connected and autonomous vehicles, public safety, drones and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Researchers will apply analytics to these datasets to improve safety and services, and eventually to develop machine-learning models that prioritize transportation resources based on usage rates and community needs.

As an intern, he/she would need to work with the AV data that has already been collected in a ROSBAG format and processed from our Fort Carson transportation testbed and Miramar 5G Living Lab Project. For the Ft Carson project the data has been collected from the AV shuttle operated by First Transit and Perrone Robotics and for the Miramar project the data has been collected from Ollie Shuttle operated by Local Motors and Robotic Research. There is also an ongoing pilot project on off road AV Shuttle deployment. This data includes camera data, LIDAR data, RADAR data and other point cloud data generated from the AV. The intern will have to work on the development of digital twins using software like Unity.
